Most of the artworks in this section from Socheat's first big solo exhibition called Eyes of Mercy. She wrote in the introduction:  These are oil paintings of cats painted in the company of my own cats. My intentions to use my artwork as a vehicle to raise awareness on animal rights in Cambodia.  Motifs of urban pollution and mistreatment were an element in these artworks, but I did not want to emphasise the negative but leave room for the observer to develop their own response.
